About Natalie
As long as I can remember, I’ve had a pen in my hand. I’d draw anything and everything I came in contact with before I could even form those ideas into words. Creating art was an outlet to get lost in another world, as well as a way to plug in and communicate with this one.
Growing up outdoors in the Pacific Northwest, nature has always been my main muse. That inspiration took me first to San Francisco Art Institute, then back to the pines where I received a BA in Art and Design from Portland State. I quickly found an artistic style inspired by surrealists’ use of expansive, dreamlike spaces and expressionists’ use of dancing light and bold color.
While fine art alone was incredibly fulfilling, I had also found a knack for analyzing data and diving head first into new software systems during my business minor. I was told time and time again, “that’s rare for creative-types.” Okay then, time to capitalize right? Maybe it was my Type-A achievement tendencies, or maybe it was just a 20-something’s entrepreneurial spirit in a gig economy that sealed the deal. But it didn’t take long to return to school and complete an MBA in Marketing from Oregon State.
Since creating my first ski/snowboard graphic in 2014, I’ve cultivated a design and digital marketing career that satisfies both my passion for artistic outlets and my itch for data organization (in color coded spreadsheets, of course). My diverse experience spans across outdoor sport, creative agency, event planning, and real estate industries in Portland, Oregon.
